Case Study | Brighton Pride

Since 2012 Wilde Ones has managed all production of Brighton Pride on Preston Park.

The last eleven years have seen many changes, and as the event grows so do the production values at the UK's biggest and most renowned Pride event.

Wilde Ones feel a major connection with such a worthwhile event and are proud to be involved in the festival's development.

In 2018 the event footprint grew, Main Stage increased and the event became a two-day affair. Increased production values and capacity have enabled internationally renowned icons to headline.

With stars such as Britney Spears, Nile Rodgers, Kylie Minogue, Christina Aguilera and Grace Jones performing, Wilde Ones must ensure that every detail of the planning process is scrutinised for sell-out shows.

The increased crowds, level of production and site footprint means the Brighton Pride Fabuloso weekend is the most complex event in our calendar.

The A Team

A plan is only as strong as the team delivering it. Fortunately, Wilde Ones is blessed with a network of truly exceptional event professionals.

The limited build timeline and large event site - squeezing in 10 performance areas and bars, 35+ caterers along with markets and sponsor activations - needs a team that runs like clockwork.

Detailed advance communication paired with great spirit on site gives the framework for solid event delivery whatever the weather.

Selecting the right suppliers and trusting them with the plan is crucial to our site management culture.

Templine have given stability to a crucial part of the event infrastructure since 2019. The team is responsive, knowledgeable and their equipment is rugged - with extras always on the wagon.

Working with specialists like Templine who understand the event - and our attention to detail - help reduce the stress levels on site.

With a technicolour event on our hands, Wilde Ones sought new ways to put Pride into every element of the production.

With increased media attention and additional VIP viewing area required, Wilde Ones had to come up with an on-brand solution.

Rainbow roofed ‘box seat booths’ gave the perfect vantage point to watch the show.

The largest covered stage is that Dance Tent which has hosted DJs from Fatboy Slim to DJ Fresh to David Morales.

One of Brighton Pride's major stages is the Dance Tent which has hosted DJs from Fatboy Slim to Honey Dijon to David Morales.

Tents present different challenges for our lighting design team and allowed more scope for laser and LED displays throughout the day.

We work to incredibly high detail when planning with the technical specialists, making sure that they have the support to create an outstanding spectacle for those attending.
